Love or hate Damien Chazelle’s La La Land, it seems the young musical director is more than bouncing back from the Oscars mix-up. Reports indicate Chazelle might move to TV for contemporary musical drama The Eddy, picking up some of those Paris threads from the Oscar-winning film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chazelle will team with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child writer Jack Thorne for the Paris-set musical drama, which follows “a club, its owner, the house band and the volatile city that surrounds them.” The project is being shopped to cable and streaming networks, with producers on-board like Grammy-winning songwriter Glen Ballard and Six Feet Under alum Alan Poul.

For his part, Best Director-winner Chazelle also wrote and directed Oscar-nominee Whiplash, and will next helm Universal Neil Armstrong biopic First Man, also starring La La Land alum Ryan Gosling as the central character.

We’ll see what shakes out with Chazelle’s new TV project, but could the same La La Land magic befall an ongoing series set in Paris? Stay tuned for the latest.
