When it is getting cold outside like it has been this week, here are some favorites to warm you up.

A Big Bowl of Chili

Chili con carne as it is properly called is my favorite to eat when it is cold outside. Don't get it mixed up with chili con queso which is also good any day of the week but it is nothing like chili (con carne). Grab a sleeve of crackers and enjoy it with a nice glass of sweet tea.

Beef Stew

Another grandmother classic that my mom was awesome at making as well. Nothing beats a cold day better than a big pot of beef stew and in my family a skillet of cornbread to crumble up into it and enjoy.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup

Another "down-home" classic that is super easy to make as long as you are not making homemade tomato soup. I personally love just the canned Campbell's Tomato Soup. Grill that sandwich and dip it into that bowl of tomato soup and get yourself warmed up and happy.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Once again, it's much simpler if you are not making it homemade and are just opening up a can of soup, but if you want to make it as grandma or mom did, then go for it. Nothing will warm you up better than chicken noodle soup and again that sleeve of crackers to enjoy with it on a cold cloudy dreary day, it's like sunshine in a bowl!!
