With COVID-19 still on the rise in the area, Starbright Village will have it's annual tree lighting online this year.

According to NewsWest 9, this year marks the 33rd year of the tree lighting ceremony at Starbright Village but this will be the first virtual tree lighting.

You can watch the lighting live tonight (December 3, 2020) on NewsWest 9 at 6:30pm.

The special will have the tree lighting and will also cover the history of Starbright Village and also feature performances from the Odessa High School Broncho Legacy Choir and the Permian Color Guard.

You can also see the event on all of NewsWest 9's social pages.

The lights of Starbright Village are a Christmas Tradition for my family, we have went to see the lighting of the tree and the beautiful lights every year for the past 32 years.

Even though it will not be the same because of COVID-19, I am glad that the tradition can continue virtually so no one has to miss out on a great holiday tradition that has delighted people of Odessa and the Permian Basin.

So join my family online and continue the tradition of the lighting of Starbright Village this evening at 6:30pm on NewsWest 9 or on their social media pages. The memories should not be stopped because of a pandemic even though it will not be the same as it has been the past 32 years.
