City of Midland Cracks Down on Big Rig Parking at the Southside Walmart

Big rigs are prohibited from parking on the Walmart parking lot as you can see in the picture above, but they still do it anyway.

According to NewsWest 9, Midland City Councilman J. Ross Lacy takes it personal that big rig trucks still park on the southside Walmart parking lot as well as all along empty lots on Rankin Hwy.

"Not only are they tearing up our infrastructure but its an eyesore for the citizens of our great city," said Councilman Lacy.

So Lacy will be getting an ordinance together and hopes to have it up by October 1, 2018.

Those in violation of the ordinance will be subject to a $500 fine.

Businesses along Rankin Hwy are encouraged to put up the proper no parking signage to enforce the ordinance.
