Chuy's is opening soon in Midland and the old Logans Roadhouse is getting a makeover to prepare to house the new location.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Chuy's Field Manager Stephanie Burger says they are excited to open another West Texas location in the Midland/Odessa area.

“We’re a proud Texas-based restaurant company, that started in Austin in 1982, with strong brand recognition and a very loyal fan base,” said Burger. “Since we already have a West Texas presence with El Paso, Lubbock, and Amarillo, it makes sense to continue to build out this strong market with a Midland location.”

COVID-19 postponed the growth to Midland but the decision was made last year to open more locations in Texas and Midland was one of the first considerations.

Burger says Midland/Odessa is a competitive market thanks to oil but fluctuating oil prices bring their own group of challenges.

“This variable can make staffing and volume a challenge,” said Burger. “Even with these factors, the potential of growth and building roots within the community is worth the extra effort, but we have to earn it. Consistently great food and service is the key to success in a competitive market like Midland. We’re only as good as our food and our people.”

Chuy's describes itself as "a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that serves authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appeals to everyone.”

“It all starts with a solid foundation,” said Burger. “We are 100 percent committed to serving great food, hiring and training the friendliest employees in the world, and becoming an integral part of the Permian Basin community. If we treat our staff with respect and give them the tools they need, they’ll stay and not leave for the next new concept that comes to town. Rule #3 at Chuy’s is, ‘Have Fun!’ and we want our staff and our customers to always feel that in our restaurants.”

The new location is expected to open in late spring or early summer 2022.
