Businesses Asking Customers for Help With the Current Coin Shortage
Another effect of the COVID-19 pandemic is the shortage of coins happening at the Federal Reserve.
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the shutdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic has now caused a shortage of coins in U.S. Federal Reserve.
The shortage have caused some businesses to ask consumers to not pay with cash and opt for debit and credit card only purchases.
Debit and credit card purchases are safer because then you don't have to hand over money and get money back which could have been in the hands of someone with COVID-19.
This is just another side effect of the pandemic that will hopefully be over once we get a vaccine.
