Before the 2019 American Music Awards even began, superstar Korean music group BTS won the award for Favorite Duo or Group (Pop/Rock), beating out the likes of the Jonas Brothers and Panic! At the Disco.

The group, though not in attendance at the ceremony, accepted the award in a pre-taped video that aired on the AMAs pre-show, which was live-streamed on Twitter.

“BTS has been a group for six and a half years, and throughout those years, we have [had] so many of our dreams manifest somehow manifest into reality," member RM exclaimed in the clip. "And ARMY [fans], you guys are the ones who made all this possible, and we really couldn’t have done it without your love and support from all over the world."

BTS are the first non-English language act to win in the category, which marks the Korean music group's second AMAs win after taking home Favorite Social Artist at the 2018 ceremony.

During tonight's ceremony, BTS is also up for Favorite Social Artist (again!). They also took home the award for Tour of the Year this evening.
