Blue Sky Texas burger restaurant has five locations in Texas, the closest location to Midland is Lubbock until the new restaurant opens up in the Midland Plaza.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, if you have been to the location in Lubbock, you know it is a casual restaurant and some locations offer outdoor seating.

Its not certain right now if the Midland location will have outdoor seating but it is expected to.

Blue Sky never freezes their meat and they hand make their hamburger patties from fresh 100% ground chuck.

Buns are baked fresh daily and contain no preservatives according to the Blue Sky website.

The fries are hand cut from No. 1 quality Idaho potatoes, and the restaurant is known for getting it's green chilis from Hatch, New Mexico, making its own ranch dressing, and serving only Blue Bell ice cream in their hand dipped milkshakes.

Blue Sky opened in 2003 in Amarillo and has been voted Best of Amarillo, Best of Lubbock, and Best of West.

They were also voted best onion rings in both Lubbock and Amarillo.

I have been to the Blue Sky Texas in Lubbock several times and I agree with all of the "Best Of's" they have been awarded.

Construction began in May for the restaurant in the vacated J.E. Borron building in the Midland Plaza across the parking lot from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Michael's.

The location has been vacant for more than 20 years so there may be a lot of repairs to the building structure that will need to be done before they open.
