The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) came to West Texas Tuesday (Sept. 8, 2020) to talk about the impact of COVID-19 on the sheriff's office.

According to NewsWest 9, the network wanted to discuss with Ector Co. Sheriff Mike Griffis about how COVID-19 has impacted the Permian Basin community.

The focus was mainly on how they handled bar closings and the protests that followed, especially at Big Daddy Zane's.

Sheriff Griffis said he was surprised that he was contacted by the BBC for the interview.
