Brothers Kevin and Michael Bacon are bringing their unique music styling to Lubbock's Cactus Theater later this year.

The Bacon Brothers'  will stop in the Hub City on September 11th, 2022 as part of their Out of Memory Tour in support of their 11th album Erato, named after the Greek muse of romantic poetry Eratos, set to release this summer.

The Bacon duo began making music in 1995 and later experimented with certain genres they liked to create their own sizzling Bacon Brothers' sound they've named "Forosoco." According to the duo, Forosoco is a combination of rock, soul, country and folk music that had so much meaning far beyond taking them around the world that they even decided to name their music label Forosoco Music LLC.

Outside of the Bacon Brothers band, Michael Bacon is a musical composer and for his first time was able to turn an instrumental composition into a lyrical song.

"We're still exploring the sound we began making 25 years ago," explains Michael Bacon. "Music is a life's work. It's a universe of things yet to know. It's exciting to be doing stuff we couldn't have done 20 years ago — to know that we've come so far, yet still have so much left in the tank."

In their search of new ways to create music, the Bacon brothers also had a few outside collaborations, including with songwriter Desmond Child on the song "In Memory (Of When I Cared)," plus one from within the family. Kevin Bacon's son Travis worked with his father to expand on their signature genre by producing the track "Karaoke Town" and adding his own spin with a more electronic arrangement that he is more accustomed to when playing with his own metal band, Black Anvil.

Each song is a journey that teleports you to different places. One song can have you jamming out in a 2011 bar, while another makes you feel like you're laying in a country field during a warm summer night. The Bacon Brothers have captured lightning in a bottle with their unique music.

After listening to The Bacon Brothers, I'm without a doubt a Bacon Brothers fanatic. Unfortunately, there's no official name for Bacon Brothers fans, according to Vanessa Sundra, an admin for the Bacon Brothers Official Fan Community Facebook page. Sundra told me the brothers call their fanbase "small, but mighty."

Erato will be released on July 8th and can be pre-ordered on Apple Music and Spotify. The Bacon Brothers will perform at the Cactus Theater on Sunday, September 11th, 2022. Tickets can be purchased online here.
