A Major Marvel Character Reportedly Dies at the Beginning of ‘Infinity War’
We’ve been emotionally preparing for what’s to come in Avengers: Infinity War for some time now, well aware that a handful of Marvel characters won’t make it out of the movie alive. Kevin Feige has already warned us that Thanos is going to do something real bad in the first five minutes of the movie, and now we possibly have more confirmation of what that bad thing may be.
ScreenGeek reports that a “reliable” source tells them a “major Marvel character” will die at the beginning of Infinity War. Here’s more from the source, who describes the death as “BIG” in all caps:
The beginning of Avengers: Infinity War features the death of a major Marvel character. Some fans will be expecting it, while others will be blindsided. It sets the tone for the rest of the movie – as well as the future of the MCU. It’s good that the Russo Brothers are telling fans to be emotionally prepared for the film – because they’ll definitely need to be. Whether you’re expecting it or not, it’s going to be BIG.
Now this isn’t all that shocking – if Thanos is going to do something terrible enough to prove why he’s the worst baddie in the MCU, swiftly killing a major character off the bat will do just that. But who will it be?
Well, while fans are anticipating some seriously gutting deaths, we doubt the most painful ones will come five minutes in – if we are bound to finally say goodbye to Cap or Iron Man, it would be bananas to kill either off five minutes into the dang movie. So it could be one of the many other characters in danger, like Loki or Thor – remember that Ragnarok mid-credits scene? – or perhaps Vision, Nebula, or a beloved Black Panther character (don’t you dare touch Shuri, Thanos!). Either way, prepare to be devastated minutes into Infinity War. Bring your tissues, and lots of ‘em, when it hits theaters April 27.
