Ariana Grande’s ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ Sounds Absolutely Charming Using Cardboard Nintendo Instruments
As demonstrated by her latest quirky performance of "No Tears to Cry," Ariana Grande doesn't need real instruments to sound flawless (or any instruments, for that matter).
The pop star, whose highly anticipated fourth album, Sweetener, is reportedly due out this summer, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a musical segment aired Monday night (May 15), where she charmed with a colorful rendition of her latest single alongside the enigmatic host and his talented house band, The Roots.
Performing only with instruments created using cardboard Nintendo Labo parts, the iconic gaming company's genius new DIY kit for its Switch console, the playful take on "No Tears" sounds, admittedly, just as good as the studio version — no doubt thanks to Grande's effervescent vocal prowess and The Roots' dynamic, legendary ability to nail just about any song, any which way.

This isn't the first time Grande has showcased her love for gaming. In 2017, the singer appeared as a playable character in mobile RPG Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, for which she also provided an epic remix of her Dangerous Woman track, "Touch It."
