30 Years Ago Today: ‘Baby Jessica’ Rescued From Abandoned Well in Midland

30 years ago today on October 16, 1987, "Baby Jessica" was rescued.

People Magazine earlier this year wrote an article on Jessica McClure Morales and her life today.

But 30 years ago it was a different story as millions across America had tuned into cable news to see a drama unfolding right here in Midland.

Locally we were watching our local media to keep up with how things were going hoping that any minute we would see the toddler that had been trapped in an abandoned well for the past couple of days finally raised out of that well.

We would have to wait all day before she was finally brought out of the well that evening somewhere around 8:30p.m.

30 years later Jessica McClure Morales is happy and has two children of her own and still lives in Midland.
