Zendaya says she was racially profiled during a recent trip to grocery store Vons, where a store clerk refused her and her friend service based on their skin tone.

The Spiderman: Homecoming actress relayed the experience in detail yesterday (September 6) to her fans via Snapchat in a series of videos.

“So we just got out of this Vons,” she began. “Now, I’m trying to buy a lot of gift cards. There are certain, specific things you have to do when it comes to buying gift cards. There’s certain limits...which is understandable, okay cool, so I’ll take a less amount, whatever. But the lady who was helping us — I don’t think she was a huge fan of our skin tone.”

Zendaya continued, saying the clerk assumed the K.C. Undercover actress couldn't pay for her purchase and tossed her wallet aside.

"In fact, I recall her not trying to help us at all, saying that we couldn’t buy the gift cards and then throwing my wallet," Zendaya said. "I can’t make this sh—t up. This is what we deal with. She was like, ‘You can’t afford this,’ is how she looked at me. It was $400!"

Zendaya later said the store manager eventually assisted her with her purchase, but she noted, "Long story short, there is so much progress to be done in our world...You know what, it’s all love."
