Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade': Where to Watch For Free
Update: Lemonade is now available for purchase on iTunes, for those who don't have a Tidal subscription but need to watch Bey slam that bat into cars on repeat x10. While the audio tracks are available for individual purchase, if you want the visuals you'll have to snap up the whole album for $17.99.
Once upon a time a fresh, tall glass of ice cold lemonade cost about 25 cents at the local kids' neighborhood stand. Fortunately, you can put your piggy banks away, because Beyonce's giving her Lemonade away for free this weekend. Lucky you!
As previously reported, fans will be able to watch Bey's exclusive, brand-new music event this evening (Saturday April 23 at 9PM EST) free of charge as part of Cinemax-HBO's complimentary network preview — which also includes the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones, for all you Thronies out there — now through April 25.
But if you're left wondering, "What do I do if I don't own a television?" — worry not! While the network's free preview promotion will reportedly not include streaming services like HBO Go or HBO Now, prospective viewers can sign up here for a free 30-day trial of the latter service today, just in time to stream Beyonce's special event tonight. (Just make sure to cancel the trial within 30 days, if you want, or else you'll be charged $14.99/month.)
In addition, there's even a rumor circulating that HBO Now users may be able to stream the program as early as three hours before its official television premiere. According to Fusion reporter John Walker, while speaking with support staff for the streaming service, he was told that Beyonce's special will be available to watch on the app starting at 6PM EST:
And if you absolutely can't watch or stream today, the channel will air a rerun of Lemonade on Sunday, April 24 at 8PM EST.
No matter what happens, by the end of the night we'll finally know what Lemonade is, whether it is a "docu-style special" (as teased by one anonymous HBO executive to USA Today), an extended hour-long conceptual music video, or even the premiere of Beyonce's highly-awaited new album.
