According LiveScience, the Olympic event that burns the most calories is: Cross-country skiing.  Cross-country skiers can hit speeds of over eight miles-per-hour, and at that pace you can burn around 1,600 calories an hour.

Which begs the next question, 'Which one burns the least?'

That would be curling. It burns the fewest at around 400 calories an hour, though not from the person scooting the rock across the ice, but from the vigorous motions of the sweeper.
