What I’m Thankful For — Nov. 3
With Thanksgiving on the horizon, it's only three weeks from Thursday, I'm taking a short time to reflect on one thing that I am thankful for each day.
Today I'm grateful that I have the ability to recognize strengths in others, and offer them encouragement. At lunch today, I was visiting with a friend about her career and her value. While she is a fierce friend an an incredible champion of others, she sometimes undervalues her own attributes.
We spent time discussing how she can identify her own strengths and place value on them. I shared with her a great quote I read from Kim Garst that I have taken to heart, and that I keep posted on the bulletin board next to my desk.
"If you don't value your time, neither will others. Stop giving away your time and talents. Value what you know and start charging for it."
I'm thankful that the message above was shared with me, and that I have the ability to share it with others and encourage my friends to recognize their own value.
