Have you ever wondered what jobs have the highest mortality rate per capita? Here is the list of the 5 most deadly.

A survey in Yahoo Finance found that for every 100,000 people working in the U.S., around three of them die on the job every year.  And if you're thinking, 'The only way I could die at my job is from boredom or driving down one of the county roads in West Texas', not even close; and if you're thinking that the oilfield must be number one, guess again.

According to the survey, here are the five DEADLIEST jobs in America:

1.  Underwater welder, 15% fatality rate.

2.  Astronaut, 5% fatality rate.

3.  Logger, 0.13% fatality rate.

4.  Fisherman, 0.12% fatality rate.

5.  Pilot, 0.07% fatality rate.

As for the dangers of being a truck driver: 25 of every 100,000 full-time truck drivers die on the job.

What profession did you think would be in the Top 5?
