West Texas Food Bank Announces a New Partner For Food Donations
West Texas Food Bank has announced a new partnership for the next couple of months to get donations for the needy in the area.
According to NewsWest 9, the partnership is with Sims & Guess Realtors for the next couple of months for donations.
From March 1-April 30, 2018, Sims & Guess Realtors of Odessa will donate $20 for every house sold during that time period to the West Texas Food Bank.
Libby Campbell, Executive Director of the West Texas Food Bank stated “With the price of oil shooting back up, and the influx of new residents to the Permian Basin, we could not be more excited to partner with Sims & Guess who is finding homes for all these people. The donation for every home sold will serve as a reminder to all those finding themselves in new homes that there are others less fortunate in our community, and the very act of purchasing a new home will help get our neighbors fed.”
You can help too, brown paper bags will be arriving in the mail soon and the food bank is asking you to put canned goods and non-perishable food in the bag and leave it by your mailbox on Saturday, May 12, 2018 so mail carriers can pick it up and deliver it to the West Texas Food Bank.
