The Permian Basin has had its share of booms and busts in the past 60 years and now UTPB wants to get those stories from people who have witnessed it first hand.

According to NewsWest 9, the project is looking to go beyond the numbers and science of the booms and busts and focus on the real life stories of the people who lived through them.

Rebecca Day Babcock is a UTPB professor and stated, "I think what's so exciting about this project is its really about the humanities because mostly when we hear about the oil industry we hear about the geology, about the chemistry, about the economics, about the workforce and all the stuff, It's about the humanities side, the human that’s really missing.”

For more information on the project, you can check out the UTPB website.
