Mad Men alum Elisabeth Moss is having a no-good, very bad 2017 on the tube, between Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale, and our first looks at Top of the Lake Season 2. See for yourself in the first Top of the Lake: China Girl poster, in which Robin is finally starting to crack up.

We still don’t have an official premiere date for the Sundance TV sequel series, though AMC nonetheless released our first look since Nicole Kidman’s grey-haired debut in December:

You can also check out the updated synopsis below, which includes a fuller cast description:

“Top of the Lake: China Girl” will see Elisabeth Moss (“Mad Men”) reprise her Golden Globe winning role as Detective Robin Griffin. She will be joined by Nicole Kidman and Gwendoline Christie (“Game of Thrones,” Star Wars: The Force Awakens). Also joining the cast are David Dencik (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures, Jonathan Strange And Mr Norrell) and Ewen Leslie (The Daughter).

“Top of the Lake: China Girl” is a crime mystery story that begins four years after the explosive ending of series one. After the shocking events that rocked her hometown in New Zealand, Detective Robin Griffin, recently returned to Sydney, is trying to rebuild her life. When the body of an Asian girl washes up on Bondi Beach, there appears little hope of finding the killer, until Robin realizes “China Girl” didn’t die alone. Robin’s search to discover “China Girl’s” identity takes her into the city’s criminal underbelly and closer than she could have imagined to the secrets of her own heart.

Hopefully Top of the Lake: China Girl will come forth with a look at Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie (or at least an official premiere date) soon, but in the meantime, check out the first season’s trailer below.
