If you have never served, like me and you don't know how to share your appreciation to a veteran, just say this.

Thank you. There doesn't have to be a big flowery speech, or oratory. Just a look them in the eye and share a sincere expression of thanks. You don't know what they have gone through, who they have lost, what they have lost of themselves: Don't pretend to.

22 Veterans commit suicide every day in America. They aren't getting the help they need, partly because of the corruption in the VA, but also because of us; our inability to understand why they can't just plug right back into society.

Today honor our veterans that have sacrificed so much that we might have the freedoms we enjoy and also, give a veteran a fair break to get them back into our real world along with the time they need to adjust.
