A Texas family bought tickets to the World Series Game in Houston this past weekend but was turned away when they showed up at the gate.

According to NewsWest 9, a Texas family found out the hard way about buying tickets on Craigslist.

Andrea Falcon wanted to get the once in a lifetime experience of a World Series game and thought she had been careful about purchasing from a stranger online.

The seller met in person with Andrea at Minute Maid Park, she saw the tickets and even asked the people at the box office to check the tickets to see if they were legit, and the employee at the box office claimed they were on their stock paper so they looked legit but they could not scan them to verify.

Once Andrea and her family got to Minute Maid Park for the game a few days later, she was turned away because the tickets turned out to be fake.

Houston Police said that realistic looking tickets are always being sold online and warned anyone not buying them from the venue itself or a known ticket outlet should think twice about purchasing them.
