Camila Cabello proved in December 2016 that it was she who was Miss Movin' On when she officially quit Fifth Harmony to embark on a solo career. But did she get a nudge out the door from good pal Taylor Swift? She's responding to the rumors.

In a new chat with podcast The Dan Wootton Interview, Cabello answers claims that Swift was the one who convinced her to up and leave the formerly five-piece girl group, which was formed on The X Factor in 2012.

“It annoyed me that people said she was encouraging me because I know that she probably got a lot of negative criticism for that. Absolutely nobody could ever persuade me to do something," she said. "If I don’t want to do something the whole world could be telling me and I won’t do it."

“And if I do then the whole world could be telling me to not do it and I’ll do it. I’ve always been that way," she added. "To be honest with you, she’s never ever had anything to do with that. It’s so funny, because when Taylor and I talk and whenever we hang out we talk about love and boys.”

Still, there's no denying Swift and Cabello have grown close over the years — Cabello and Charli XCX will even open for select tour dates across Swift's upcoming, massive Reputation World Tour.
