Yesterday brought the very first teaser for Game of Thrones Season 7, which was especially exciting after HBO forced us to watch a block of ice melt for an hour. It featured Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), and Cersei (Lena Headey) all making their way towards their respective thrones. It was an awesome little tease, but the music in the trailer? Not the greatest.

As if the wait for Game of Thrones Season 7 weren’t long enough, recent weeks have seen all manner of perfect pairings coming together via set photos and rumors. It now seems the mother of all meetings is finally upon us as well, with super-spoilery set videos finally singing our Song of Ice and Fire.

Usually, Game of Thrones stars wait until they’ve been good and killed off to take any other major TV roles, but since when has Kit Harington’s Westeros tenure ever followed the normal path? The once and future Jon Snow is getting ready for another TV gig closer to home, set to remember, remember the fifth of November in a new Gunpowder miniseries.

Game of Thrones fans have generally presumed that George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Fire” refers to an inevitable pairing between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, something the HBO adaptation has seemingly made clear with a host of parallel imagery. At least one major Season 6 reflection wasn’t intentional, however, as Kit Harington calls it a “happy accident.”

As often as anyone has come back to life on Game of Thrones, we’ve been reminded they don’t come back the same. Then again, that wasn’t immediately true of Kit Harington’s Jon Snow this past season, for which the actor admits a bit of disappointment with the script. Plus – is Jon safe for Season 7?

Relieved though we are to have all those Jon Snow shenanigans behind us on Game of Thrones, we’ll admit that stars and producers did an admirable job clinging to the barely-there secrecy of Kit Harington’s return. Well, all except Harington himself, perhaps, who apparently spoiled the good news to a police officer in exchange for getting off with a warning.
