As the Star Trek film franchise wades even deeper into time-traveling trippiness, there remains the question of Star Trek: Discovery’s place in the universe for its TV return. We know it takes place in the prime (read: pre-reboot) timeline, but a new report may well have uncovered Discovery’s relationship to Kirk, Spock and the others.

The Republican National Convention has certainly energized Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, but there’s little two ways about the former Colbert Report host struggling to find his voice on CBS. James Corden’s Late Late Show has only grown in the subsequent time slot however, but would CBS really consider swapping the order?

What, you thought The Celebrity Apprentice enough to contain Arnold Schwarzenegger’s impeccable pecs on TV? Not so, puny readers, as the ex-Governator’s loosely autobiographical bodybuilder series Pump has officially landed at CBS Television Studios with a development deal.

The future of Star Trek may not divide humanity by nations of Earth, but back in the 21st century, CBS All-Access subscribers in the U.S. may have reason to envy abroad. The new Star Trek series will be made available on Netflix in international markets, with new episodes streaming shortly after their premiere.

The drama of network upfronts may have passed us by, but Limitless fans were left in the lurch over the fate of CBS’ TV sequel series, at least until now. Yes, Limitless officially reached its limit at one season, as discussions with other outlets have fallen through.

CBS didn’t show us anything new by the official 2017 Star Trek teaser, but will the same be true of its other new franchises Training Day, or MacGyver? Judge for yourself, as the latest movie-TV reboots get official trailers fro the 2016-17 season, looking far different than anything you remember.

It wasn’t seen as likely that Supergirl could make the transition from its prestigious CBS home to the more youth-skewing CW, but now we’ve officially taken the plunge, it remains to be seen what changes lie in store. As far as CBS was concerned, the move is “win-win,” but what took so long to hammer out a deal?

Just take a moment to really soak in that headline. CBS, a major network in the United States, reportedly passed on a new Nancy Drew series because it was “too female.” Wow. In a country where women make up 51 percent of the population, it would just be totally crazy to green light a show about us. Thankfully, the contemporary update on the classic detective character is being shopped elsewhere, so hopefully they’ll find another network that doesn’t cringe at the thought of all this lady stuff.

Now that one of CBS’ most visible 2016 decisions is out of the way, the eye network sets its gaze on the new crop of pickups, and what they might replace. Officially ordered to series now are a Training Day sequel with Bill Paxton as the lead, and a thrice-baked MacGyver reboot, among others.
