Solar Panel Farm Set to Begin Operation in Dawson County

Renewable energy is a big deal in West Texas with wind farms popping up everywhere, and with abundant wind and sunshine in the area it was just a matter of time before a solar panel farm was to spring up somewhere.

According to NewsWest 9, that new solar panel farm will begin construction this month outside of Lamesa around the small community of Los Ybanez.

The Lamesa Solar Facility will have 410,000 solar panels and is scheduled to begin operation by this time next year.
