The Blakemore Planetarium in Midland will be having a viewing party for the solar eclipse coming up this Monday and all are welcome to attend.

According to NewsWest 9, The Museum of the Southwest and Sibley Nature Center are hosting the event at the Blakemore Planetarium beginning at Noon and going until 2:00 pm.

They are telling people to dress cool and wear sunscreen and make sure you have the special viewing glasses to view the eclipse.

Officials do say other alternatives to the safety glasses are welders glass or welder's goggles to view it
