Remains found in a garbage pit on Saturday could be the remains of two teens missing since 2015.

According to NewsWest 9, Midland County Sheriff's Office began investigating once skeletal remains were found at a garbage pit just south of town.

The MCSO believes the remains are those of two missing teens from 2015 but have not found a second set of skeletal remains as of yet.

The remains they have found will be transported to Tarrant County so a forensic anthropologist can examine the remains.

The examination could take up to two weeks to complete.

Meanwhile the remains of the second missing teen are believed to be in the area and MCSO says if they do not find remains in the pit where the other remains were found they will search the rest of the property.

Texas Rangers have also been included in the case.
