The four proposals that have come in so far have all been for hotels from such companies as Insignia Hospitality Group of Midland which owns four hotels in Midland,  two hotels on I-20 (Holiday Inn Express and Suites and TownePlace Suites), one near the Scharbauer Sports Complex (SpringHill Suites), and Holiday Inn Express and Suites on Loop 250.

“Insignia Hospitality Group, Inc. is a community-driven, self-sustaining hospitality management and development group dedicated to partnering with Intercontinental Hotels Group, Hilton Hotels Worldwide, and Marriott International to maintain a portfolio of quality assets,” says a statement on the Insignia Hospitality Group’s website. “We pride ourselves on creating efficient processes which result in financial success without sacrificing a welcoming, family-like atmosphere.”

Another group that has put in a proposal is Beitler Real Estate Services LLC out of Chicago which has created some of the most architecturally distinguished projects in and around Chicago and the Midwest.

The third group is Valencia Hotels in Houston which specializes in full-service luxury hotels which they state on their website.

The fourth one has a local name, Midland Downtown Renaissance, LP, but according to Texas-Biz.com is actually Franklin Mountain GP 4, LLC from El Paso.

The City of Midland reported on Monday that no details were able to be discussed at this time but it looks like there is a possibility of a high-rise hotel going into downtown Midland soon.
