Tensions between civilians and the police are rising, so here's a reminder that maybe we all need to cool off.

Two officers in Halifax, Va., including Chief Kevin Lands, pull over a driver to let her know she violated vehicle code 1.7.3.9. The woman had no idea what that is, so the cop lets her know, "It's actually against the law to drive on a hot day without an ice cream cone."

The officers then hand the woman and her passenger an ice cream cone. The duo inside the car burst into laughter, completely amused and caught off-guard by the gesture.

In these times, when it seems we're inundated with negative stories about police and the public's opinion of them, this video offers a clear contrast and reminds that, with the power of ice cream, maybe, just maybe, we all can get along.
