All the rain that we have gotten in the area means those pesky mosquitoes will be coming soon, and with the Zika virus out there now, we all need to make sure to do some preventative measures to prevent any sickness.

According to NewsWest 9, Howard county officials are telling residents to take precautions to make sure the spread of Zika or any other illnesses brought by mosquitoes is kept to a minimum.

Make sure all birdbaths are emptied daily and refilled, make sure any standing water on your property is removed or treated with pest killers to kill any eggs laid in the water, and make sure any spare tires in and around your yard ard turned over to empty out any standing water within them.

Take these precautions to insure you and your family stay safe from any viruses spread by mosqitoes.
