With a growing population, the Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is getting a plan together for the three counties in the Midland/Odessa metro area.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the three counties involved would be Ector, Midland, and Martin counties.

The plan is to make it easier to alter roads across county lines without issue like the Yukon Road project which will begin in Ector County and end up in Midland County.

Officials said counties do not have the same thoroughfare rules as cities, but having a regional plan that all counties go by will help in the long run.
