The First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas where two dozen members were killed, will be demolished, says the pastor of the church.

According to NewsWest 9, Pastor Frank Pomeroy contacted the Southern Baptist Convention to tell them it would be too painful to continue worship services in the current church building and proposed that the building should be demolished.

Pastor Pomeroy discussed making the area where the church building still stands as a memorial for those who lost their lives and rebuilding the church on the other side of the property.

No final decisions can be made without the approval of the congregants.
