Chappell Roofing is giving back to the community by giving a Vietnam veteran a new roof.

According to NewsWest 9, Johnny Wright is a Vietnam veteran who served his country for 13 months.

Now his roof is bearing the brunt of West Texas weather and was in need of repair, I say was because Chappell Roofing has decided to give him a roof replacement at no charge for the veteran.

Wright was selected from entries of a contest in October where they selected one veteran for a roof replacement, the drawing was in December.

Today (Monday, 1/30/17) will be the day a crew of four from Chappell Roofing will begin the process to replace his roof.

"I like people that recognize us now. For a long time, they didn't. But they do now, they're making up for it," said Wright.
