The Chick-fil-A located on North Loop 250 next to the northside Walmart is planning to expand.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the northside location of Chick-fil-A will be torn down to build a new and bigger building.

That location was the first stand alone location in Midland and was built in the mid 90's and has been remodeled twice since it opened, once in 2006 and again in 2011.

The new building will be bigger and have a better circulation of traffic along with sharing a parking area with Texas Roadhouse.

The current location continues to have heavy traffic which prompted the demolition and enlargement plan.

City officials approved the reconstruction on Monday and work will begin once the new Chick-fil-A location on Loop 250 and Hwy 191 is completed.
