If you're going to borrow a formula, you might as well borrow the formula for one of the more successful franchises in recent memory. People have been jokingly calling 'R.I.P.D.' "'Men in Black' with ghosts" for some time now, and for darn good reason: it does look like 'Men in Black' with ghosts. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If you want us to see a movie where the great Jeff Bridges plays an undead cowboy hunting down stray spirits, all you have to do is tell us when to get in line. Anyway, two new banners for the film have arrived, and guess what? They too make 'R.I.P.D.' look like 'Men in Black' with ghosts.

Grizzled old guy with a young, comic-relief partner? Check. Big, weird-looking guns that feel like a major selling point? Check. You could have these banners look like they're selling a new 'Men in Black' movie with about 30 seconds of Photoshop.

Based on a not particularly well-known comic book of the same name, 'R.I.P.D.' follows a young police officer (Ryan Reynolds) who is killed in the line of duty. When he arrives in the afterlife, he is given the chance to join the "Rest In Peace Department" to help track down escaped souls and return them to the underworld. Naturally, he's got a veteran partner in the form of Jeff Bridges, who will have plenty of things to teach the new rookie under his wing (and certainly a few barbs to throw at his expense).

'R.I.P.D.' opens on July 19.
