New Lighter Regulations Possible for Taxi Drivers in Midland Thanks to Uber

With Uber returning to Midland on June 1, city council met yesterday about changing regulations for taxi drivers.

According to NewsWest 9, new regulations for taxi drivers in Midland include allowing drivers to negotiate fares with their riders, switching to annual inspections of vehicles, and lifting the age and color restrictions of vehicles.

The final vote will be taken at the next city council meeting on June 28.
