Taken lead Bryan Mills may lose family members with alarming regularity, but would never let Season 2 get away. NBC has officially granted the prequel drama an expanded Season 2 renewal, under new leadership at that.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Taken has been renewed for an additional sixteen episodes in Season 2, upped from the initial season’s ten. Additionally, showrunner Alexander Cary will depart, as the search begins for someone new to take the reigns in Season 2.

Led by Vikings star Clive Standen in the role Liam Neeson made famous, Taken follows a young, unmarried Bryan Mills developing the abilities that featured into the original 2008 movie, and its two subsequent sequels. Also starring in the series are Jennifer Beals, Gaius Charles, Monique Gabriela Curnen, James Landry Hebert, Michael Irby, Brooklyn Sudano, Jose Pablo Cantillo and Simu Liu.

Homeland alum Cary wrote the pilot script and executive produced the new drama, behind original film director Luc Besson, as well as Matthew Gross, Edouard de Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros.

We’re just beginning the madness of Upfront renewals and cancellations, but did Taken deserve a second shot at Bryan Mills’ legacy? Watch a highlight below.
