Last night a Midland man was nominated for a Tony Award.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Michael Arden, former Pickwick Player and a 2000 graduate of TrinitySchool, was nominated last night on the Tony Awards for Best Direction of a Musical for the musical "Spring Awakening."

He did not win the Tony Award for the musical based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind, the Tony Award was awarded to Thomas Kail for the monster broadway hit musical "Hamilton."

The musical "Spring Awakening" is a rock musical set in 19th century Germany about teens who begin their journey of confrontation and responses to love, sex, and a rebellion.
