A new rash of car burglaries in Midland has police reminding you to lock your vehicles.

According to NewsWest 9, thieves have been striking the west side of Midland in the past few weeks stealing stuff from unlocked cars.

The first incident was reported on October 21 in the 400 block of Sweetbriar Drive just east of Loop 250 west. There surveillance cameras caught a suspect checking door handles for easy access.

A second incident was reported on the other side of the loop by the Scharbauer Sports Complex in the 600 block of DiMaggio Drive. That suspect was also caught on surveillance checking door handles for easy access.

Make sure all your vehicles that are parked on the streets or in driveways are locked before you go into the house to prevent you and your car from being the next one broken into.
