If you have noticed a yellow tint to your water in Midland, don't worry, officials say the water is safe and here is why...

According to NewsWest 9, city of Midland officials say the yellow tint in the water is being caused by elevated levels of manganese because of the heat and abundance of rain we have been having.

They also state that they are oxidizing the raw water before treatment beginning Tuesday, so the yellow tint should be gone in a few days.
