Midland Gets Funding For More Bike Lanes and Sidewalk Improvements

For those who think Midland does not have enough bike lanes or needs better sidewalks, soon there will be more bike lanes and improvements will be made to sidewalks.

According to NewsWest 9, the Texas Transportation Commission has just been granted over a half million dollars for creating more bike lanes within downtown as well as improving some sidewalks.

The money will be used to put in five foot wide bike lanes on two streets in downtown Midland with the rest of the funds to go to making curb ramps on some sidewalks along with crosswalk markings and signage.
