May is ‘Watch For Motorcycles Month’ in Texas

The summer months see the biggest increase in motorcycle accidents on the highways in Texas, so TxDOT want to raise awareness this month.

According to NewsWest 9, TxDOT is raising awareness of motorcycle traffic all this month to help curb the increase of accidents in the summer months.

Officials say that 54% of all fatal motorcycle accidents are caused by a collision with a car or truck.

Collisions are also more common at intersections or while changing lanes.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to motorcyclists this summer to help stop these fatal accidents.
