You can call Lauren Jauregui the 21st century's Captain Planet — the Fifth Harmony member hammered Donald Trump's recent scaling back of protections to the environment and urged her Twitter followers not to adopt Trump's mantra of prioritizing personal wealth over the wellbeing of the human race.

On Tuesday (March 28), Trump signed an executive order curbing American investment in climate change efforts and research, according to CNN. In other words, according to NexGen Climate president Tom Steyer: "Trump is deliberately destroying programs that create jobs and safeguards that protect our air and water, all for the sake of allowing corporate polluters to profit at our expense."

Welp, Jauregui made it very clear she was not going to stay quiet on the issue, and sounded off on social media.

"Humans weren't created to eat money off of the plates of the rich, humans were created to experience life and their beautiful home of planet earth," she wrote. "They're brainwashing you into thinking you'll ever be as rich as them; you won't be because you will never be as ruthlessly inhumane. The billionaires in our government don't care that you can't afford your medication, they don't care that you're getting sick because of your water, food and air being poisoned with an immense amount of chemicals.

Jauregui also implored her fans to focus on political movements and at least temporarily shelve obsession with celebrity culture.

"This is a dangerous fascist era we're in and while we may not feel the effects right now, there are going to be grave consequences for our children and grandchildren," she noted. "It's sad everyone has been dumbed down so much that what celebrities are doing and hooking up with is more important than the fact that our Earth and Democracy are dying."
