Weeks ahead of the release of their animated adventure-comedy, Trolls, Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick still can't stop the feeling. But in their characters' new duet from the film, the feeling is a little less joyful and a little more somber. (Grab a tissue!)

On their twinkling, acoustic guitar-driven rendition of "True Colors," Timberlake and Kendrick supply a surprisingly emotional, lush cover of Cyndi Lauper's iconic 1986 pop ballad, and the Pitch Perfect actress's voice is a particular a standout for its crisp, soulful quality and ability to weave seamlessly with the iconic pop star's crooning.

The stunning duet was first previewed at the Cannes Film Festival back in May during a live acoustic performance ahead of the film's screening. Watch below:

The soundtrack for the film also features another Timberlake-Kendrick tune—a cover of "September," featuring Earth, Wind and Fire—as well as a second version of their "True Colors" duet.

In the upcoming Dreamworks film, Timberlake voices a gruff and grumpy little outsider troll named Branch, while Kendrick portrays Poppy, the bubbly, upbeat leader of the colorful magical creatures' community. When the trolls are menaced by a band of monsters, the two unlikely allies must team up to save their world.

Trolls opens in theaters November 4. James Corden, Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel and Icona Pop also star.
