People's Most Beautiful Woman of 2016, Jennifer Aniston, will not accept the title of hot, lonely, childless person, she tells Marie Claire as part of the new December 2016 issue.

Aniston, who penned a scathing critique of Hollywood's treatment of women in a July Huffington Post essay, doubled down on her sentiments in Marie Claire. She said she'd finally had enough of the baseless criticism when she decided to move forward with the article, and maintains she refuses to let any attacks get to her.

"I just thought, 'I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human,'" she said. "My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed. It's like, 'Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it?"

Aniston said much of her renewed strength comes from her partnership with husband Justin Theroux, whom she married in August 2015. She insists the couple's relationship is so strong, she has recently declined roles that put their time together at risk. Now, she's much more discerning with jobs she accepts.

"You have to be so madly in love with it and think, 'I will be so upset if I don't go and play this person,'" she said. "This is a time when I'm not completely sure what I'm doing. I'm at this sort of crossroads trying to figure out what inspires me deep in my core. What used to make me tick is not necessarily making me tick anymore. The most challenging thing right now is trying to find what it is that makes my heart sing."
