The husband of a Marfa teacher has been charged with her murder.

According to NewsWest 9, Daniel Merrill Sullivan reported his wife, Sophia Eleanor Sullivan, had been stabbed in their home last Friday (March 16, 2018).

Now he has been charged with her murder after their 7-year-old son told police that his father had killed his mother and blood evidence was found at the scene to verify that claim.

Daniel was swabbed on his hands which showed them to be positive for blood, he also agreed to a polygraph test which he failed.

Sophia was found in their home Friday night with multiple stab wounds on her arms, back, and side.

Daniel is now being charged with the murder of his wife and is on a $130,000 bond.

Sophia Sullivan had been with the Marfa Independent School District for the past two years and was working with early college high school kids at Marfa High School and was beloved by all her students.
