If ever Homeland had a topical window to explore the peaceful transition of power, January 2017 would be it. After the first trailer, see Season 6 in a new light and a new Homeland, as the series comes home to New York City to fight homegrown terrorism.

As with yesterday’s Billions Season 2 sneak peek, Homeland released an extended look behind the scenes of Season 6, allowing stars Claire Danes, Mandy Pantinkin and F. Murray Abraham to extol the virtues of shooting in New York, as opposed to abroad. The concept of a female President-Elect and talk of a delicate transition takes on a new light in recent weeks, so let’s distract ourselves with an oddly wax sculpture-looking poster!

The series is already renewed for Seasons 7 and 8, and check out the Season 6 synopsis:

After she thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, season six picks up several months later and finds Carrie Mathison (Danes) back on American soil, living in Brooklyn, New York. She has begun working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the U.S. Season six will tackle the after effects of the U.S. presidential election, with the entire season taking place between election day and the inauguration. It’s a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect.

In the meantime, stay tuned for the latest on Homeland Season 6 as it arrives.
