After months of campaigning in a sometimes contentious race, Greg Abbott win election as the State's next Governor.

Texas has had Republican Rick Perry in the Governor's Mansion for the last 14 years. With the lowest unemployment in the nation and a booming economy that shows no slowing down, Texans chose to keep a Republican in Texas's top spot.

Democratic candidate Wendy Davis conceded the election after a landslide victory by Abbott became apparent. Abbott had opened up an 18 point lead just two weeks before the election and maintained most of it on election night.

Nationally is was a great night for Republicans as they took several Governors races and wrestled control of the Senate away from Democrats. Most pundits see this lopsided lean to the GOP as a loud message to the White House that the majority of Americans do not like its policies.

Do you think the Country is headed in a better direction?
